Former high school art/painting & photography teacher for 35 years, John Connolly, will explore various artistic styles and methods utilizing pastels, watercolors and acrylics in this free six-week class that meets Wednesdays, January 11 to February 22, from 2 to 4 PM at Palmetto Library (923 6th Street West, Palmetto 34221). Students (ages 18+) will learn how to apply color, create texture while working with the many mediums found in art. They will explore color mixing, with added materials to make collages and basic paintings. A reception of the artwork will be held on February 22. Students are asked to bring the following supplies: 24 sheet multi-media sketch book, scissors, pencils, magazine pictures to start your collage and any art work you've started at home.
