Let's face it... public speaking is scary! Most people would rather die than get up in front of a group and speak. That's why millions of people have joined Toastmasters groups worldwide. It's doesn't have to be scary... you just need a place to practice where you feel safe, accepted, respected, and supported......A place like Speakeasy Toasters!
We are an eclectic group of people who support each other in our personal growth and like to have fun at our meetings. We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
The Speakeasy Toasters Club meets twice a month in Overland Park, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday's over lunch (11:30 - 12:30), so it's easy to work it into your schedule! The meeting location is close to Corporate Woods and Johnson County Community College, so we are able to attract a lot of people from a variety of different backgrounds.
The best way to find out about Toastmasters is to visit one of our club's meetings. There are usually a couple of speakers giving 5 to 7 minute prepared speeches. Next is Table Topics, which gives other members a chance to practice impromptu speaking. Then the prepared speeches are evaluated.
Meetings are informal and visitors are always welcome! There is no need for an appointment or reservations. Just come as you are.
If you would like to know more about our meetings, or Toastmasters in general, please contact President Scott Morrow (e-mail: [masked] and phone: (913)[masked])[masked]) or e-mail our VP of Membership Nancy Middleton-Hand [masked].
